His father was Mariano Alamis from Casit-an, Laua-an, Antique and his mother, Evelyn Cartagena Alamis was a beautiful lady from Negros Occidental, they are both deceased. When Noel was five years old his father died in a heart failure leaving his mother to raise him, his older brother Nathaniel and his older sister Marlyn alone. At very young age, Noel experienced hardships in life. Young and small yet he is very resourceful. They were helping their mother earn money by way of gathering tin and big cans from waste and sell it together with his brother. In 1981, Noel’s family transferred to Lindero, Laua-an, Antique, the hometown of his father. His uncle Jose, the older brother of his father helped, guided and supported them. Noel learned to live as a fisher boy because their house was beside the seashore. His uncle Jose, who loves to play banjo (a kind of guitar), taught Noel to learn and play the said instrument. When Noel was in elementary, his teachers and classmates noticed that he has a special gift; he can easily adapt the melody of songs. He became popular in their school campus as a singer. When he was 14 years old, he joined an amateur singing contest in DYKA , a local AM station, and became a grand finalist. His talent as a singer and a budding composer were enhanced when he joined a band and he became a lead vocalist of the group. He spent almost a year as a band member at the same time he worked as a waiter/dishwasher in a restaurant in San Marcelino St., Manila. Noel wanted to stay in Manila because of his ambition to be a singer but her mother pleaded him to go home .After a month, his mother died in an illness at the age of 49. Noel never gave up, he fought and faced that reality of life and he continued taking the road to success. Noel also joined the El Shaddai, a charismatic religious group where he was a choir member. His El Shaddai prayer partners helped each other and they produced a Christian song albums entitled “Lost & Found” and "Prayers in Song" . The project was materialized through his initiative and effort. The music studio recorded some of the popular Kinaray-a music in the province of Antique and Noel took charge of the studio. In March 23, 2006, a tragic motorcycle accident happened to Noel and his friends. Fifty percent of his face was wounded and he suffered a double vision for almost 3 months because his left eye ball was touched by a bone from the right side of his skull that cracked. He was advised not to work hard that made him discontinue managing the studio until he totally stopped working as government employee. After the wounds in his face were healed, Noel decided to refresh and go on with his life. He put up an advertising business and his very own private music recording studio.
